The Cultural Centre supports the development of Indigenous Tourism within the communities in and around Townsville.
We aim to:
- Promote tourism development in regional and rural Australia;
- Contribute to long term economic growth throughout Australia;
- Increase visitation and yield throughout Australia;
- Enhance visitor dispersal and tourism expenditure throughout Australia, including by encouraging tourist to move more widely within Australia; and
- Increase Australia's competitiveness as a tourism destination.
Indigenous Tourism Overview
Research undertaken by Tourism Australia commented that the Australian Tourism industry is only meeting half the demand for Indigenous tourism experiences.
